Terms & Conditions

Please take a moment to read through the following and ensure that you are familiar with our club rules and ethics before sending in your application.

  • Bunyip Equestrian Club Inc and its members are governed by the rules of the Horse Riding Clubs Association of Victoria. These rules and regulations are available to view online at www.hrcav.com.au.

  • Bunyip Equestrian Club Inc has very high standards in ethics and the conduct of members. All members are expected to treat their fellow members and any person who may be at the club for an event, clinic or as a guest with the utmost respect, kindness and support. As a club we have a ZERO tolerance towards bullying, victimizing, defamation or any behaviour that causes another person to feel uncomfortable or unwelcome at the club. We support encouragement, nurturing and support.

  • As a member of Bunyip Equestrian Club Inc you agree to assist the club at club organised events. We require 8 hours in total of work at club organised activities (e.g dressage day, sausage sizzle). Please note if you are riding at an event you are expected to help no matter how many hours you have volunteered for in the year to date. Those members who fail to fulfil their required helper duties will be unable to re-join in the 2024/25 membership year. If you cannot make a given day, there are always jobs to do prior or independently, so ask and we can let you know where help is needed.

  • Bunyip Equestrian Club Inc has a duty of care to its members’ horses to ensure that welfare, care and health are of a certain standard. Therefore if you are riding a horse that is deemed unfit through lameness, illness, obvious signs of distress or weight issues you will be asked to dismount and to discuss help options for the horse. Only committee members can ask for a rider to dismount their horse on these grounds so please report any concerns to a committee member before approaching the rider concerned.

  • Bunyip Equestrian Club Inc through the Community Asset Committee - Pound Road Reserve offer gate code access to members of user groups. Only FULL members of Bunyip EC will be able to apply for the gate code. Code application forms will only be provided to members on request that have been a FULL member for 6 months and attended 6 rallies for that year.

  • Bunyip Equestrian Club Inc has implemented a 3 rally per year minimum for members. If you fail to reach the required attendance, you will be unable to re-join in the 24/25 year unless your non-attendance was due to illness/overseas/pregnancy or any reason the committee deems acceptable.

  • At rallies, if you are booked in to a show jumping lesson, you MUST arrive early or stay later to assist in set up and pack up of jumps. We also expect all lessons to start on time and if you are running late, the instructor cannot wait for you.

  • If you are not feeling well before rally/using the grounds – you cannot attend. If you have symptoms of coronavirus (COVID-19), or a member of your household has symptom’s get tested, and stay home until you have your result as per the public health order.

  • While at the grounds, whether it be during a rally, competition or using the grounds on your own time, it is your responsibility to clean up after you and your horse. This includes removing manure from arenas, yards and driveway, taking home rubbish and hay and ensuring it is tidy and as neat as you found it. Also, please note if your horse does any damage to the grounds it is YOUR responsibility to inform a committee member. They will organise for either yourself or the council to rectify the issue. This includes mending rails in the yards either if your horse kicks a rail off, or chews on the railing.

Thank you for taking the time to read through the terms and conditions of membership. If you have any issues with any of these points you can send an email to bunyipec@gmail.com or by post to PO Box 5, Bunyip, VIC, 3815.
